Rafting


Rafting is a kind of sport, usually on the river, where a group of people (between 4 and 10) lowered a rubber boat down river rapids, with the aim of excitement, adventure and socializing. Rafting is, although it belongs to the group of extreme sports and even though there are international competitions, particularly aspect of sports and recreation. Inflatable boats ("inflatables" or "raft") for rafting are made of extremely resistant multi-layer rubber and have several separate air chambers. Lenght raft is between 3 and 6 meters. In most cases, a raft has a "Skipper", who sits on the raft stern and rudder or, more often, oar, manages and provides a raft through the river rapids. Every passenger in the raft ("rafter") is equipped with a paddle, protective floating vest and helmet. Precise instructions are given to beginners, usually tourists, which these must be strictly followed while rafting.


Tara Rafting

The Tara River Canyon is 82 kilometers long and is 1,300 meters at its deepest, making it the deepest river canyon in Europe. The canyon is protected as a part of Durmitor National Park and is a tentative UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Tara River cuts through the canyon. The canyon is part of the Tara River rafting route. The one-day rafting route, from Brstnovica to Scepan Polje, is 18km long and it takes 2 to 3 hours. This part of the canyon is the most exciting because the river has the biggest drop in elevation in the shortest length. There are 21 out of 50 rapids in that part of the Tara... - "Wiki"
